Local Cod-Viking Starship
Capt Carl reports just an OK day on the cod grounds. We sailed with a light load of anglers and the weather was as nice as it gets! Flat seas, no wind, sunshine and warm temps! We had a good morning bite of market cod while drifting around, and the Marvelous Mavros again caught a nice 15 lb cod mixed with the smaller ones. For a couple hours we picked away at keeper cod, as well as short cods. Eventually, the bite turned off, and we tried some other zones but nothing materialized for us, making the second half of the trip a slow one. John Cavallo from New Hyde Park, NY took the pool with an 8 lb cod. We will not be sailing tomorrow, but check back for schedule updates.
