30-50 Mile Wreck-Viking Fivestar
Capt Steven Jr reports another great day of cod fishing!! Everyone loaded up with nice fat healthy cod for Christmas! We had great fishing all morning with the cod and after everyone had their fill we went looking for some sea bass and found a handful of them to round out the day, but it was nothing like we have been seeing. The cod are moving in and the sea bass are moving out. There were plenty of cod to go around. The high hook team today was the Rennar sisters from Montauk who had 27 cod (Orl) and a dozen seabass! We had a lot of cod in the mid teens and a few in the upper teens! Sorry we didn’t get many pictures today. We were busy!
Capt Dave reports a good day of fishing, but the porgies are very scarce. We started out inshore catching a bunch of cod. After that we moved offshore in search of porgies, but we didn’t have much luck. We only caught two!! We did find a bunch of sea bass and everyone onboard caught 8 to 10. We also found more cod offshore. In total there were about 70 cod. We had a tie for the pool between Ifa Gordon from the Bronx, NY and Jose Rodriguez from Flushing, NY with the two porgies that were caught.
