Sat June 1

Montauk Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a very good day of fishing today aboard the Viking Starship. We had mixed sized porgies, with a few really nice ones mixed in and most everyone had their limit. Everyone also had a handful of nice sea bass. We had 2 keeper striped bass and some shorts, and also about 10 keeper fluke. Today’s first place pool winner was Jose Rodriguz of Englewood, NJ with a nice 3.5lb porgy and in second place was Gorge Beja of Hillside, NJ with a 14lb striped bass.

1/2 Day Fluke AM Captain Steven Jr reports good action aboard the Viking Starship today despite tough conditions. There was lots of small fluke with a few keepers mixed in and a couple of sea bass came up as well.  Edward Van Kruijssn from Amsterdam won the pool with a nice 4.5lb Fluke and a close second went to Alec Nanci-Marc of Amagansett NY with a 4.2lb fluke.

Thurs June 29

Montauk Jumbo Summer Porgies & Knothead Seabass Captain Dave reports an excellent morning of porgy fishing aboard the Viking Star today. There was a good bite from the porgies all morning and we brought in plenty of nice sized porgies with a few smaller ones mixed in. We went back to the same zone as yesterday for sea bass and there was plenty of action again but mostly smaller fish. A lot of the sea bass were throw aways but everyone still managed a few keepers. We also had a few keeper fluke! The pool winner was Simon Choi with a nice big 4.2lb Porgy!

Thur June 29

Half Day Fishing – AM Capt Steven Jr reports good action on the Viking Stariper as the morning went on. We had a couple of keeper fluke, a handful of nice sea bass and nice sized porgies. The pool winner was 3 year old Rosalind from Mannsville, NY with a 4 lb Fluke.

Wed June 28

Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass Capt Dave reports a decent day aboard the Viking Star. We had really nice sized Porgies today and the Sea Bass picked up from yesterday. The first place pool winner was Will McFadden from Amityville, NY with a 4 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Peter Shane from Patchogue, NY with 4.8 lb Sea Bass. Saturday July 1st will be our first day back sailing on the 140′ Viking Starship for Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass!

Montauk Summer Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports an excellent morning of fishing today aboard the Viking Star. We had perfect conditions today with plenty of nice sized fish. Towards the afternoon we went look for some sea bass and we found a pile that let us slowly pick away. Everyone almost reached their limit with a couple nice sea bass and also everyone had a handful of keeper fluke. Today’s first place pool winner was Danny Bethea of Jamaica with a nice 3.75lb porgy and in second place was Tony Fish with a 4.5lb fluke.
