Sun Jun 18

1/2 Day Fluke AM Captain Sarah reports a slow day of Fluke fishing aboard the Viking Stariper this morning. The bite was slow but we did manage a few keepers, we also caught some nice sized Sea Bass that were returned to the water unharmed. The pool winner was Enrique Picharlo from Southampton NY with a nice 5.7lb Fluke.

1/2 Day Fishing Capt Carl reports a great afternoon 1/2 Day trip with a lot of fluke flying into the boat. We had a good amount of keepers today. The first place pool winner was Matt Williams from Lake Grove, NY and the second place winner was Craig Balestras from Commack, NY both with fluke.

Sat June 17

Half Day Fishing AM Captain Carl reports good fishing today aboard the Stariper. The fluke were slow today, with lots of shorts, but we did have a lot of big porgies coming over the rail. Everyone left with a bag of filets to take home. Today’s first place pool winner was Martin Davidson of Freeport with a 3.5lb porgy and in second place was Earl Purvis of Queens with a 3lb porgy.

Night Striped Bass Captain Carl reports a very tough night of fishing aboard the Viking Star. There was a stiff SE wind and a strong tide, which made it too bad to drift. We did manage one beauty at 39lbs by Doug Seay.

Montauk Jumbo Poriges Captain Dave reports an excellent day of fishing aboard the Viking Star today. There was lots of action today with the fish biting from start to finish. We caught plenty of nice quality, mostly large Porgies. We also caught some throwback Sea bass and a handful of Fluke. The pool winner was Neville Patterson from Brooklyn with a 3lb Porgy.

Thurs June 15

Montauk Jumbo Porgies Captain Dave reports an excellent morning of fishing aboard the Viking Star today, which came in early as everyone reached their limits! Conditions were rough in the morning with strong winds but the fish still bit well. There was lots of nice sized Porgies as well as about half a dozen keeper Fluke and two keeper Stripers. Lots of blues were coming over the rails too and some Sea bass which were all released unharmed. The Pool winner was Jimmy Hughes of Lindenhurst NY with a nice 3.5lb Porgy.

Wed June 14

Montauk Jumbo Porgies Captain Dave reports an excellent morning of Porgy fishing aboard the Viking Star. We were able to spend most of the day drifting around the lighthouse picking away at plenty of good quality porgies. We also got two keeper Striped Bass and lots of Sea Bass which were all released unharmed. We got lots of action around the Lighthouse all day until the tide got too fast during the last hour. Even after we moved for the last hour we still picked away at some smaller Porgies and some blues. The pool winner was Andreas Voutsinas from Queens NY with a nice 3.5lb Porgy.

Montauk Jumbo Porgies Captain Dave reports an excellent morning of Porgy fishing aboard the Viking Star. There was plenty of action with lots of big fish and a few blues.When the tide ran hard we moved down towards the beach where there was still plenty of action but mostly smaller fish. We also caught a few Sea bass which were all released. Today’s pool winner was Jordan Spirou from Westbury NY with a nice 4.2lb Porgy.
