Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse porgies & Knothead Seabass
Captain Dave reports another great morning of porgy fishing abaord the viking Starship. Due to the strong tide we anchored up down the beach and fishing was excellent here. We had a ton of action with the porgies, they weren’t jumbo but it was non-stop with lots of double headers!. We also had tons of mackerel and some seabass. When conditions improved we did a few drifts by the point where we found some bigger porgies. We then went looking for seabass but we mostly just got small fish. Seabass fishing was slow today. The pool winner was Walter Perkins from the Bronx NY with a 3.2lb scup.
