Fri Aug 2 -Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass
Captain Dave reports from the Viking Starship. An unbelievably good day fishing. First drift near the Montauk Lighthouse lasted 2 hours with solid fishing and most anglers getting their limit of quality large and Jumbo Porgies. We then traveled a bit East and rods were bending continuously. We had to pick through a few Sea Bass to get some big fat keepers. In addition to the quality Sea Bass, we also picked up some nice Porgies, 1 nice keeper Fluke, a few Bluefish, and some Mackerel. First place in the pool was a tie, anglers Alina Hoxah and Tirana Albania from East Hampton both caught 3.55 pound Sea Bass. Second place in the pool went to George Williams of Uniondale, NY with a 2.25 pound Scup.
