Sun Dec 8 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports another good day on the Viking Star. Cold temperatures but almost flat calm seas and light winds made for an almost perfect day of fishing. We had a steady pick of large to jumbo Porgies all day and about 30 Cod on board and quite a few Mackerel. Sea Bass were thinner than they have been, but everyone went home with plenty of Scup and half of Viking Fleet anglers also had Cod. Rony Martinez of Uniondale NY won the Porgy pool with a 3.8 pound Porgy and Qing Yang won the edible pool with a 19 pound Cod.
