Wed July 1 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports a fantastic day of fishing! Our first drop of the day saw some of the best Porgy fishing we have seen so far this year. We had good sized Porgies mixed in with some Bluefish. We then hit one of the offshore wrecks and boy did we hit on the mother load of Sea Bass. The spot was loaded with Sea Bass, we did have a lot of smaller fish that had to go back but we also landed beautiful Sea bass as well as a lot of jumbo Porgies. The final drop of the day saw a steady pick of Porgies and then we headed back to the dock. All of today’s anglers left with their coolers full of fish. Today’s pool was won by Benny Niranjan of Queens who landed a 3.4 lb Porgy. Troy Walken of Brooklyn was todays’ second place winner with a 4lb sea Bass.
