Sun Dec 13 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a good day on the the Viking Starship. We started out the day close to the island and we had plenty of shorts chewing the lines. We took a long ride to deeper waters offshore and the size of the fish definitely improved. It was a slow pick of Porgies and Sea Bass and mixed in were Ling and Bergalls and the nicest green Cod we’ve seen this season. The first place pool winner was Fidel Corea with a 3 lb Porgy. The edible pool was won by Jose Lund of the Bronx with a 10 lb Cod.

This was the last day for the Porgy & SeaBass trip, but we will be continuing though the end of the year with Block Island Mixed bag daily at 5am and returning at 3pm.. This trip will be a mix of Cod, Sea Bass, Porgies, Blackfish (Until Dec 22) and other bottom dwellers. The fare is $120.
