Back to Viking Fleet Fishing Reports

Sat May 8 – 2 Day Deep Water Exploratory

Thurs May 6 to Sat May 8
Capt Steven Sr reports a decent offshore trip on the Viking Starship. We held back a few hours waiting for the weather to go by and it worked out. We arrived to perfect conditions. We first found a mix of Tile fish and dogfish. We ended up having to battle with the dogs for the majority of the trip. The afternoon of the first day we had good clean tile fishing. On the second day we started with clean Tiles then the dogs found us and we ran from them most of the day. By mid afternoon we found a very clean spot with very good Tile fishing and quality fish. This is where the pool Tiles were caught. Strong tides and dogfish found us again. After another hour of fishing through the dogfish we decided to call it a trip. There were also some Barrelfish, Hake and Cusk. All in all some guys did well and others had a tough trip.
