Thurs June 30 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Capt Dave reports good fishing on the Viking Star. We started out drifting at the lighthouse with perfect conditions. It was a mix of big Porgies, Bluefish, Striped Bass and a few keeper SeaBass. Once the tide got running we headed down the beach and anchored up. We had to pick through a ton of little SeaBass, but everyone got two or three keepers. There were also Jumbo Porgies and around a dozen Trigger fish mixed in. The first place pool winner was Gim Yee with a 3.1 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Nicky from Brooklyn with a 12.5 lb Striped Bass.
