Thurs July 28 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Capt Dave reports a good day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. The tide was running a bit fast this morning around the Lighthouse, so we made a few short drifts for Porgies and then worked our way East to search for Seabass. In the middle of the day we worked a few spots for SeaBass and had our limit with Bass up to 3 1/2 lbs. We worked our way back and did our last hour around the Lighthouse again where we crushed them in an hour and a half drift. Porgies were coming on the boat between large and jumbo sized, so we finished off our trip with a nice bang. The first place pool winner went to Ifa Winston, from the Bronx with 2.7 lb Porgy. We will be sailing tomorrow for the 5am- Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass trip (Friday, July 28th).
