Sun Aug 21 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports an excellent day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. The conditions were terrific and the bite was on. We started the morning off with a 2 hour drift around the Lighthouse with steady fishing, tons of large Porgies and a few medium sized with some SeaBass and Fluke in the mix. Later on we made our way east and did some SeaBassing on the rock piles and had plenty of jumbo Porgies and a handful of really nice sized Fluke. We had about a dozen keeper Fluke on the boat today. The first place pool winner went to Yomar from Queens with a 2 3/4 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner went to Natalie from Mount Vernon with a 7 1/2 lb Fluke.
