Sun Sept 25 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports a good day of fishing around Block Island today on the Viking Starship. We started the morning in class tight to the shore where fishing was on the slower side, but we managed to pick a way at a few. We then ventured into some deeper water where we found plenty of Porgies mostly medium to large sized. After filling up on Porgies we went farther offshore fishing for SeaBass and found some really nice fish. We ended up with a  dozen Cod fish and plenty of Mackerell on the boat. Both pools went to the same person, John A from Freeport with a 3 lb Porgy and an 8 lb Cod. We will be sailing again tomorrow at 5 am. a person holding a fish a person standing on a boat a person holding a fish
