Sat Oct 22- Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Capt Dave reports an excellent day of fishing today on the Viking Star. We fished up close in the shallow water off of Block Island for most the day, where we had a nice mix of Porgies and SeaBass. The Porgies were on the medium to large size with a few jumbos and we had SeaBass of all sizes up to a few lbs. We had one keeper Cod fish and one keeper Striped Bass on the boat as well as a handful of Mackerell. The first place pool winner went to Bernaldo Castillo from Queens with a 3.5 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner went to Angel Flores from New York, NY with a 12 lb Striped Bass. We will be sailing again at 5 am tomorrow for the 5 am Porgies and Seabass on the Viking Star (Sunday, October 23rd).
