Thurs Nov 3 – Coxes Ledge Cod & Sea Bass

Capt JR reports that our first trip to Coxes Ledge was absolutely a slammer!! We started out fishing some of the traditional Sea Bass grounds in the area and found piles of giant Sea Bass! Jigs, bait, bare hooks, absolutely everything had jumbo knot head sea bass climbing all over the boat. We stuck to keeping only the real giant models and spent the first part of the trip putting together a very impressive catch of Sea Bass with a pick of slot sized Cod to spice up the action. We moved to some deeper drops and found some very nice upper slot sized Cod along with a few more Sea Bass. Bait worked well but the jigs definitely had an advantage for targeting the Cod. We ended the trip with a boat limit of ALL Jumbo Sea Bass and everyone had some Cod to top off their catch. A VERY GOOD DAY. This trip sails on Thursdays on the Viking Star departing at 5am and returning at 4pm. The fare is $175.
