Sun June 11– Montauk Spring Porgies

Capt J.R. reports an okay day of porgy fishing on the Viking Star. Everywhere we went there was a decent pick of fish. The last hour or so the bite turned on for us and the big porgies were chewing. Those who knew what they were doing did just fine throughout the day and had a pretty good catch to go home with. We also landed some really nice fluke to round out the catch. The first place pool winner was Marcos Ramos from Jamaica, NY with a 3lb Porgy. The edible pool winner went to Buck from Queens, NY with a 4.5 lb Fluke. We will not be sailing tomorrow (Monday, June 12th) at 5 am on our Montauk Spring Porgies.
