Sat June 17 – New Moon Striped Bass
We had an excellent trip onboard the Viking Star. We started out using jigs and it definitely paid off. Lots of action with lots of under size, slot size, and over slot size stripers bending rods. As the sun started to set the jig bite eased off and we switched over to using eels. The eel bite was RED HOT! Fast and furious action all around the boat. We easily boated our limit of slot sized fish and had the added bonus of capturing a few XXL bass in the 40-50 lb range that made great pictures before releasing. We had a blast all night. The first place pool winner went to Patrick Damico from Rocky Point, NY with a 22 lb Striped Bass.
