Sun July 2- Full Day Block Island Fluke
Captain Carl reports a bit of a tough day on our Full Day Block Island Fluke and Sea Bass trip. We started off with the Full Moon Flood tide and wind together drifting at 2.2 kts. Once that started to settle down, we started picking away with 2-3 keepers per drift. Then, we broke the golden rule of fishing. We left those fish to go hunt for more and for bigger.
Well… that didn’t work out for us. We only found a few more Fluke, and some giant bluefish that made sea bass fishing tough. Finally, at the end of the day, we went right back to where we started and plucked some more keepers out of it. We put in some extra time and got home late but our anglers were all very patient and persistent. Thank you all for coming! We are looking forward to getting back there next Sunday July 9th!
Brian Martin from Lynbrook, NY took the Fluke pool with a 6 pounder, and Handel Silva from Hackensack, NJ took the Sea Bass pool with a 3.5 pounder.
