Tue Aug 1 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports some really good fishing today on the Viking Starship. We decided to try something different today to escape the strong tide from the full moon, by the heading down the beach. It was an excellent showing of fish today, with large sized everything. We had plenty large Porgies, as well as SeaBass, Trigger fish, Mackerell and some nice sized keeper Fluke. We worked our way back after getting our fill and did some fishing off the Lighthouse and had some fast fishing. Porgies were coming over the rail as fast as they could, with bites instantly when they were hitting bottom. We did not have a pool on boat today, but the big fish on the boat was around 3 lbs. We will be sailing again tomorrow (Wednesday, August 2nd) on our 5am Porgies and SeaBass.
