Thur Aug 3 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a good day of fishing on the Viking Starship. We started off this morning making some drifts around the Lighthouse and had non-stop Porgy action for a few hours, with some nice size fish with mostly larges. When the full moon tide flooded in we decided to make our way to the east in search of some SeaBass, we made a few drifts and mostly had to pick through small fish to get our limit, but did have a handful of keeper Fluke and Blue fish. We then worked our way back to where we started the day and had one nice 2 hour drift to finish off the day with our limit of Porgies. The first place pool winner went to Erik Flores from New York with a 2.8 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner went to Gim Yee from Flushing, NY with a  3 lb SeaBass.
