Tues Aug 22- Montauk Lighthouse Porgies & Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports a pretty good day of fishing on the Viking Starship despite rough conditions today. We spent most our day anchored up and hiding from the Northeast wind, and had a great pick of mixed size Porgies with a lot on the large size and a few jumbos. On our last anchor drop the fish were biting their heads off, boating both large Porgies and Mackerell. We then made our way half way to Block Island and made another anchor drop and had a decent pick os SeaBass, with a lot more small fish than anything, but everyone seemed to have 1 or 2 very nice fish. We did boat about half a dozen keeper Fluke as well. The pool winner went to Bernard Niranjan from Queens, NY with a 3 lb. Porgy. We are sailing again tomorrow (Wednesday, August 23rd) at 5 am for Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies and SeaBass.
