Thur Oct 19 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports a great day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. The fishing offshore yesterday wasn’t great so we tried some fishing inshore and the bite was on. We stayed in closer to the island in the shallower water and picked through a lot of small SeaBass for everyone to get their limit. We had some Porgies mixed in as well, mostly on the large to jumbo size. We did see some Striped Bass and Blue fish coming up with about 4-5 keeper Bass boated for the day. The first prize pool winner went to Mr. Chu from Queens with a 2.8 lb Porgy. The edible pool went to Harry Alexander from Brooklyn, NY with a 14 lb. Blue fish. We will NOT be sailing tomorrow (Friday, October 20th) on our Block Island Porgies and SeaBass, but look forward to sailing again on Saturday!
