Fri Oct 13 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports a good day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. We started off our morning fishing close to the island, we had a solid two drifts in the area with a lot of SeaBass action. In that shallower water we had a nice mix of SeaBass, mostly on the large size, but…

Thurs Oct 12 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports a beautiful day of fishing on the Viking Starship. Today was one of the nicest days we’ve seen in awhile with calm seas and warm weather we fished our way close into the island for most the morning and we had some pretty decent action. We saw a mix of all sized fish in that shallow water with both SeaBass and Porgies, but the littler stuff ended up taking over as the morning carried on. We then worked our way offshore and spent some more time in the deeper water than we have been and found a handful of nice sized Porgies and SeaBass, along with a few Mackerell and one keeper Cod fish. The first prize pool winner went to Man Bun Au- Yeung from Staten Island 3 1/2 lb. Jumbo Porgy. The edible pool winner…
Wed Oct 11 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports an action filled day today on the Viking Starship. We spent most of our day drifting up in the shallow water off of Block Island where we had our pick of SeaBass. The shallow water seemed to be very lively with Seabass of all sizes. We milled our way through a lot of small fish to get most people their limit of large SeaBass. We then worked our way offshore a bit for our Porgies and had a slower pick or medium and large sized fish. The first prize pool winner went to Franklin Soto from the Bronx, NY with a 2 1/2 lb. Porgy. The edible pool winner went to Slajo Demirovic from State Island with a 4 lb. Trigger fish. We will definitely be sailing again tomorrow (Thursday, October 12th) at 5 am for our…
Tue Oct 10 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports slower fishing on the Viking Starship. It was a tough pick of Porgies with everyone managing about a bucket. The Sea Bass we had were very nice quality up to 4 lbs. There were also about a 1/2 dozen Cod. There was no pool today with the small crowd. We are fishing tomorrow. The office will open at 4am for ticket sales. There is plenty of room, so come on out!
Mon Oct 9 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports a much better day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. After a slow week for fishing following multiple large storms, it seems that fishing is starting to get back on track. We had a steady pick most of the day pulling up some nice sized SeaBass, a lot of jumbos and…
Mon Oct 9 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM
Capt J.R. reports a nice last day of half day fishing on the Viking Star for the 2023 season. We went out around the point and had some decent action. Everyone aboard to seemed have a great time and everyone left with bags of fish to go home with for dinner. The edible pool winner today went to Enzo Ciquera from East Hampton, NY with a 2.2 lb. SeaBass. Overall a great last trip and beautiful day to finish off our last half day fishing trip till next year!
Sun Oct 8 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports a rough day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. First thing this morning we had a decent shot of fish for about an hour before the dirty water started to chase the fish off. We bounced around to a few spots but the windy conditions and dirty water made for difficult fishing. The pool winner today went to Luis Moreno with a 2.4 lb. Porgy. The edible pool winner went to Jose Alfredo with a 3 lb SeaBass. With better weather conditions in the forecast for tomorrow we are hoping to see a better day of fishing as we will definitely be sailing again at 5am on our Block Island Porgies and SeaBass. Our office will be open at 4 am for ticket sales and check-in.
Sat Oct 7 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM
The pool winner was Kyle Contarino from Ramsey, NJ with a 2.3 lb Sea Bass. We are cancelled for 1/2 Day Fishing tomorrow morning. We on schedule to go tomorrow at 1PM.
