Wed Oct 11 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports an action filled day today on the Viking Starship. We spent most of our day drifting up in the shallow water off of Block Island where we had our pick of SeaBass. The shallow water seemed to be very lively with Seabass of all sizes. We milled our way through a lot of small fish to get most people their limit of large SeaBass. We then worked our way offshore a bit for our Porgies and had a slower pick or medium and large sized fish. The first prize pool winner went to Franklin Soto from the Bronx, NY with a 2 1/2 lb. Porgy. The edible pool winner went to Slajo Demirovic from State Island with a 4 lb. Trigger fish.  We will definitely be sailing again tomorrow (Thursday, October 12th) at 5 am for our Block Island Porgies and SeaBass.
