Wed Jan 3 – Winter Cod

Capt JR reports that we took advantage of the great weather and ventured out for the first trip of the new year onboard the Viking Star. We didn’t find the mother load, but we did find lots of life with some nice Cod, Pollock, Ling, Cunners and Mackerel coming over the rail. Guys who jigged all day seemed to catch a majority of the Cod and Pollock with the bait finding most of the Cunners. We still have LOADS of areas to look around and explore. The pool winner was Thomas Zito from Kings Park, NY with a 10 lb Cod. If you’re interested in joining us, our next trip is Saturday before the bad weather arrives on Sunday!!!
