Sun May 19 – Montauk Spring Porgies

Capt Dave reports a slower day of fishing today on the Viking Starlite. The morning started off much slower than it’s been, but we did see some double headers on the boat. We made 3 drops fishing about an hour each drop, starting strong with bites and slowly fading out til we would make the next move. We did see some anglers with their limit of Porgies, but many had around a dozen. Still a light Spring Porgy bite that will only get better! The first prize pool winner went to Sterling Harvey from Brooklyn with a 2 1/2 lb Porgy. The second place winner went to Hector Morel from New York City with a 2 1/4 lb Porgy. We will definitely be sailing again tomorrow (Monday, May 20th) at 5am out of Montauk for our Spring Porgies on the Starlite.
