Sat June 1 – Night Squid Jigging
Capt Carl reports much improved squid fishing tonight… with high hook capturing just about 100 pieces of quality calamari! As soon as we anchored up we started catching them on the bottom, with double headers mixed in. Well, that only lasted for about 10 minutes. Then we had a lull until the giant bait ball came to our bright lights and the squid were right behind them. We had to switch our technique to surface jigging, and those who did picked away! The size ranged from medium to extra-large. It was like an aquarium out there. Very cool to see! We will be adding more trips so stay tuned!
The small weighted Green Yozuri in the pictures was the weapon of choice.
