Mon June 17 – Montauk Spring Porgies
Capt Dave reports a pretty good day of fishing today on the Viking Starlite. We started our morning down the beach with a strong start to day catching mostly large and jumbo Porgies. After a short while the summer dog fish worked their way in and we had to pick through them. We made a couple moves to get away from the pests, but we still had to pick through them. To end the trip we did a drift to the east of the Lighthouse in one of our usual spots, but didn’t have much luck. Despite the pests, everyone ended to the day with close to their limit of some really nice sized fish. The pool winner today went to Noah Mena from Queens, NY with a 3.3 lb Porgy.
