Mon July 1– Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a very good day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. We started off this morning in one of our usual Porgy spots and it was loaded with Striped Bass! We did a lot of catch and release with some monster Stripers, we had over a dozen throwbacks and one slot limit keeper. After a couple drifts we moved on to find some Porgy action and fell into a nice little spot where we picked away at some large fish, both Porgies and SeaBass. We made our way back at the end of the trip and anchored up at during the ebb tide over at the lighthouse and had another nice steady shot of fish to give everyone their limit. The pool winner today went to Clifford from Brooklyn, NY with a 2.6 lb Porgy. We are definitely sailing again tomorrow (Tuesday, July 2nd) at 5 am for our Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies and Knothead SeaBass!!!
