Tue July 2 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a tougher day on the Viking Starship. There were a lot of Striped Bass around the lighthouse messing with the Porgy bite. The Striped Bass were out of the slot range with only one keeper. We made a move to the east and anchored up for the rest of the trip and ground out the Porgies. They were all big with a handful of Sea Bass mixed in. Unfortunately we didn’t get offshore to hunt for the Sea Bass. The first place pool winner was Cigar Freddy from Hempstead, NY with a 2.5 lb Porgy. The The edible pool winner was Noel Henson from NJ with a 3 lb Sea Bass.
