Thurs July 4 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a pretty good day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. We started off down the beach to get out of the tide and had a lot of action down there with a lot of mixed size Porgies. After a couple drifts everyone seemed to have a bucket of decent stuff after picking through everything. We then headed back towards the lighthouse, anchoring up just to the east and got onto a size pile of large sized Porgies and had a couple Blue fish in the mix. We then worked our way a little farther to the east to target the SeaBass and saw a mix of  Porgies and some medium/large sized SeaBass. Overall a pretty good day of fishing today. The pool winner today went to Jo Hernandez from Manhattan with a 2 1/2 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner today went to Christopher Black with a 5lb Blue fish! Happy 4th of July, we are definitely sailing again tomorrow (Friday, July 5th) at 5 am for our Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies and SeaBass!
