Fri July 5 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports a decent day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. We started our morning off down the beach and fishing for a solid hour and a half with a lot of Porgy action of all sizes. As the tide started to come in we moved our way to the east to an offshore wreck looking for SeaBass and we had to pick through a lot of shorts to find some keepers in the mix, but we had a lot of throwbacks. After getting a handful of keepers we worked our way back to the lighthouse to end the trip picking away at some jumbo Porgies. Our pool winner today went to Edgar Gonzalez from the Bronx with a 2 1/4 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner went to Jason from the Bronx with a 3 1/2 lb SeaBass!
