Sun Aug 4 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports pretty good fishing today on the Viking Starship. Today’s conditions weren’t great with the strong tide and light wind, so we did spend most our morning drifting off the lighthouse picking through some smaller stuff. We eventually zeroed in on some larger fish about mid-way through the trip and had our large and jumbo porgies. We shortened our drift at the end and worked a little further offshore and got onto a pretty good pick of SeaBass to finish the drift with fish up to 3.5-4 lbs.  The first prize pool winner went to Juan H from Westburg, NY with a 3 lb Porgy. We will be sailing again tomorrow on the Viking Starship at 5am!
