Sun Aug 11 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports a productive day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. After a few days docked up after weather cancellations we were finally able to get back out and the Porgy bite was on. We did some fishing in our usual spots and had a good shot of medium to large Porgies with a couple jumbos mixed in. We did venture off the the east and did a little Seabass fishing and it was ok, smaller than we were seeing before the weather hit, but they were biting. The pool winner today went to Vladimir Sandoval from Queens, NY with a 2.8 lb Porgy. We are sailing again tomorrow at 5am on our Montauk Jumbo Porgies and SeaBass.
