Sat Aug 17 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports an okay day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. We had tougher conditions today between the ground swell and the full moon tide. We moved around between a lot of our usual spots and pretty much just had to pick through a lot of little fish, finding some keepers every few fish. We did find some more keeper Fluke today when fishing south of the lighthouse with probably around 6-7 keepers on the boat. We did work our way to the east and did some SeaBass fishing, and pretty much picked through small fish there as well. Overall, we had some nice fish, just took some effort to find our keepers. The pool winner today went to Noel “Fish” Miranda from Roosevelt Island, NY with a 2.8 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner went to Victor Ramamand from Barlin, NY with a 6 1/2 lb Blue fish.
