Mon Aug 19 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports a pretty decent day of fishing on the Viking Starship. We ran offshore first thing this morning to get out of the dirty water that the tropical storm brought in and we had a slow and steady pick of both Porgies and SeaBass. They were not as big as they were yesterday more mediums than anything, but we saw fish in the large range. After picking away for some time we made our way back inshore as the tied eased up and tried a couple spots just east of the lighthouse and found some large Porgies, about half a dozen Blue fish, and a couple keeper Fluke. The pool today went to Joseph Lee Sang from Brooklyn, NY with a 2.5 lb Porgy. We are NOT sailing tomorrow for our 5am Porgies and Seabass.
