Thurs Aug 22 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports a very good day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. We had good fishing right from the get-go as we made our first anchor drop that lasted for about 2 hours or a nice steady pick of Porgies and a few SeaBass. We had mixed sized fish around medium and large size. Once the tide started running we worked our way to the south of the lighthouse and found some really nice size Porgies to pick on. We finished off our trip towards the east and found a good pile of SeaBass with about a half a dozen keeper Fluke mixed in along with a few Blue fish. The pool winner today went to James Nicholson from Brooklyn with a 2.8 lb Porgy. We are definitely sailing again tomorrow on our 5am Jumbo Porgies and SeaBass, we will be open at 4am for check-in.
