Fri Aug 23 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports a pretty good day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. Porgy fishing today was very good as we worked mostly around the lighthouse with some really nice sized fish. Seabass fishing was on the okay side with a lot of little fish around. We worked a lot of our usual spots, but it was mostly throwbacks with a only a few keepers in the mix. We finished off our day back around the lighthouse to get our limit of Porgies and did manage to boat around a dozen or se keeper Fluke. The first prize pool winner went to Salah Bholai from Brooklyn, NY with a 3.1 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner went to Jackie Mealy from Brooklyn, NY with a 3.5 lb SeaBass. We will definitely be sailing again tomorrow at 5am for our Montauk Jumbo Porgies and SeaBass, our checkin office will be open at 4am.
