Sun Aug 25 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports excellent Porgy fishing today on the Viking Starship. This morning the bite started off very strong as we anchored up just off the lighthouse. We picked away at a lot of fish for a couple hours, all sized small to large, but mostly on the medium to large side. The action this morning was absolutely excellent. We eventually picked up and made our way to the east and had a couple anchor drops off the island and had to once again pick through a lot of little SeaBass to find our keepers. We did see some Blue fish again today and a couple keeper Fluke, but mostly just Porgies and Sea Bass today. The pool winner today went to Christopher Black from Patterson, NJ with a 2.4 lb Porgy. We are definitely sailing again tomorrow at 5am on our Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies and SeaBass!
