Sun Sept 1 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports another pretty good day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. We started our morning down the beach to get out of the new moon tide and had some pretty good action, with a steady pick of mixed sized Porgies. We worked this area for a couple hours before venturing offshore and got into some decent fishing with a mix of both SeaBass and Porgies, there were still a lot of little SeaBass circulating. We picked through a lot of little SeaBass to find our keepers, while Porgy fishing remained steady. We finished off our trip back under the lighthouse were we saw a few keeper Fluke and some medium to large sized Porgies. The first prize pool winner went to William Tomlinson from Flushing, NY with a 3 lb Porgy. We are definitely sailing again tomorrow for Labor Day Monday at 5am on our Montauk Jumbo Porgies and SeaBass.
