Wed Sept 4 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports an excellent day on the Viking Starship. We started out anchored east of the lighthouse fishing the rock piles. Fishing for Porgies was as good as it gets with double and triple headers! Once the tide started running fishing slowed down on the anchor, so we put in a couple drifts but it wasn’t great. We headed offshore for Sea Bass and anchored up. There were tons of little ones, but everyone managed a few nice ones. There were also some Porgies in the mix there. There were also a couple of Fluke by the lighthouse. The pool winner was Damian Palmer from Amityville, NY with a 2 1/2 lb Porgy.
