Thurs Sept 5 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports a pretty good day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. This mornings bite started off ok, with some decent mixed action of Porgies and SeaBass, most the fish were on the medium side. As the bite dropped off we made a move midway between the point and Block and had pretty much the same go, with mixed Porgies and SeaBass, nothing very big, but some decent fish. We worked this area for a bit till the tide came in and we made our move closer to Block Island. Here we kind of had mixed bag pick between keeper Fluke, Blue fish, Mackerell, Sea Bass, and Porgies. Action was ok, getting everyone pretty much what they needed to get close to their limit. The pool winner today went to Levi Hayes from Brooklyn, NY with a 2.6 lb Porgy. We are definitely sailing again tomorrow at 5am, our check-in office will be open at 4am.
