Mon Sept 16 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports a pretty decent day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. We headed to the east right off the bat this morning and had some issues with the tide. That strong full moon tide was running hard and seemed to bring back in the small SeaBass as we had to pick through a lot of small fish. When the conditions started to right itself we dropped anchor and got into a much better pick with a lot bigger fish, both Porgies and SeaBass. The pool winner went to Phillip Libare from Brooklyn, NY with a 2.3 lb Porgy. We will definitely be sailing again tomorrow morning at 5am for our Montauk Lighthouse Porgies and SeaBass, our check-in office will be open at 4am.
