Sat Oct 12 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports another tough day of fishing on the Viking Star. The conditions today were pretty similar today as they were yesterday so we started our morning tucked in close to the island to try to stay out of the wind and had a decent pick to start. It was mostly little SeaBass in there, but there were some nice sized Porgies and a few keeper SeaBass mixed in. When the tide started running hard we made a move offshore and pretty much just had a slow pick for the remainder of the trip. The pool winner today went to Milton Bardales from the Bronx with a 2 1/2 lb Porgy. We are definitely sailing again tomorrow at 5am on the Viking Star for our Block Island Porgies and SeaBass, space is filling up, so make sure to book ahead of time to secure your spot on tomorrow’s trip.
