Mon Oct 21- Wed Oct 23: George’s Bank Cod/East End Sea Bass

Captain JR reports an excellent George’s Bank/East End Cod and Sea bass trip onboard the Viking Star. We decided to concentrate on the wrecks this trip and it produced lots of QUALITY Cod. Guys with the jigs put on a clinic all day easily boating their limit of FAT Cod. The bait fishing also produced lots of nice fish along with loads of jumbo Cunners, and a few Hake. A couple of the wrecks also produced some stud Pollock to top off the coolers. We spent the last day working some deep drops on the east end and had an easy time putting together an excellent catch of jumbo Sea Bass. In the mix were also a few more Cod and some east end hub cap Scup to round out the day. A great trip with lots of fish!!!

The first prize for Black Sea Bass went to Don Wetzel from Riverdale, NJ with a 5.4 lb fish. The first prize for Cod went to Bob Gregson Newtown, CT with a 25 lb Cod. The edible pool winner went to Bill Pyne Jr. with a 21 lb Pollack.
