Thurs Oct 24 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports a good day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. This mornings fishing started off very strong with a lot of action from the get go. We anchored up at first drop and saw some nice big fish coming up. The tide was running good for a bit which kept for a good bite between the SeaBass and Porgies, so we had some really decent action for a couple hours. When the tide eased off we moved into a drift and it was pretty much just picking through small fish to find our keeper for the rest of the day. We did see some Trigger fish and some Mackerell in the mix today too. The first prize pool winner went to John Niranjan from Queens, NY with a 2 1/2 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner went to Mr. Park from Queens, NY with a 3.7 lb SeaBass. We will definitely be sailing again tomorrow on our Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Knothead SeaBass at 5am, our check-in office will open at 4am.
