Fri Oct 25 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a good day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. We made our first drift up close to the island and had an excellent shot of BIG Porgies, from medium to jumbo size, but pretty much large and jumbo. We had a good couple hours on this drift picking away at these large Porgies, with some okay SeaBass mixed, most were throwbacks, but a few keepers. After a bit, we took a ride offshore and got onto some better sized SeaBass. We did have to battle off the dogfish in the deeper water today, but everyone managed a handful of very nice Seabass as well as some Mackerell.  The first prize pool winner went to Ronald Johnson from Yonkers, NY with a 3 lb Porgy. We are definitely sailing again at 5am for our Block Island Porgies and SeaBass, our check-in office will be open at 4am.
