Sun Oct 26 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports another good day of fishing on the Viking Starship. We had a similar day of fishing to yesterday, we started our morning tucked in close to the island and out of the wind and made a couple nice drifts up in the shallows, picking away at some decent size Porgies, mostly medium and a few larges. When the wind started to back down we moved offshore into some deeper water and picked through some smaller SeaBass, but everyone seemed to manage a nice handful of quality sized SeaBass. We did see some Mackerell in here, but they definitely seem to be thinning out.  The first prize pool winner went to Dimitrios Goundis from Philadelphia, PA with a 2.1 lb Porgy. We will be sailing again tomorrow morning at 5am for our Block Island Jumbo Porgies and SeaBass!
