Mon Oct 28 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a productive day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. Today proved to be a slow and steady kind of day, fishing never got red hot, but the pick remained consistent throughout each drift. We started our morning close to Block Island and picked away at some bigger sized Porgies, between medium to jumbo sized, but definitely most of them were on the large side today. We did move a bit offshore and had some nice action with the SeaBass, seeing fish up to 4 lbs, this is a large improvement from the last couple weeks. We did not have as many little fish to pick through today, most fish that came up were big fish. Overall, it was a good day of fishing with some nice BIG fish. The first prize pool winner went to Robin Jung from Belmar, NJ with a 3 lb Porgy. We will be sailing again at 5am tomorrow for our Block Island JUMBO Porgies and SeaBass, our check-in office will be open at 4am!!
